Amazons (D&D 5th)

Several homebrewers have tried their hands at creating an amazon race for 5th edition D&D.  None of which quite matched my need.  Below, I make my own attempt. 

This race was originally intended for the Artifice Saga campaign, but was designed to apply to other amazonian peoples of other campaigns.  It was not my intent to create new player races for all of the Sentinel peoples, only those for which a good analog is not quite available.  Tashas's Cauldron of Everything has since offered a new way of looking at new/uprepresented races/lineages.

Amazons

Amazons are a race of warrior women, known for their great strength and skill at war.  Sometimes stereotyped as haters (or even killers) of men, this is an extreme point of view.  Their society is unisex, however--and no man of any race is permitted to live among the amazons or marry one of their number (see Gargareans, below).

Amazon Traits

Ability Score Increase.  Your Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength scores all increase by 1.
Age.  Amazons reach adulthood in their early teens and live for about a century.
Alignment.  Amazons are a lawful race.  As they typically strive for independence and self sufficiency, they favor neutrality.
Size.  Amazons stand between 6 and 7 feet tall and weigh about 200 pounds.  You size is medium.
Speed.  Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Amazon Weapon Training.  You have proficiency with spears, glaives, shortbows, longbows, and shields.
Natural Athlete.  You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.
Powerful Build.  You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity  and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Tactical Advantage.  You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Languages.  You can speak, read, and write Common and Amazonian.

Gargarean Traits

Gargareans are "male amazons."  Typically viewed as the weaker of the two sexes, they are often treated as a separate tribe or race.  Amazons and gargareans meet only once a year, under the cover and anonymity of darkness, to mate in order to preserve both races; females are kept to be raised by amazons, while males are sent to be raised by gargareans.

In the Artifice Sage, gargareans are treated as members of the same race as amazons.  They are very rare, at only 5% of the current generation (with that percentage dwindling with each new generation).  They are typically pampered and secluded by the amazons in order to keep them happy and safe.  Amazons have turned to Artifice in order to perpetuate their species.

Ability Score Increase.  Your Wisdom score increases by 2 and you Charisma score increases by 1.
Age.  Gargareans reach adulthood in their early teens and live for about a century.
Alignment.  Gargareans are a lawful race.  As they typically strive for obedience and likability, they favor the good alignment.
Size.  Gargareans stand between 5 and 6 feet tall and weigh about 130 pounds.  You size is medium.
Speed.  Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Gargarean Tool Training.  Your have proficiency with any two instruments or gaming sets of your choice.  You are also proficient with any two tools or vehicles of your choice.
Natural Emissary.  You have proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice:  Deception, Insight, Perception, or Persusion.
Elusive Target.  You do not suffer any penalties to Stealth checks while traveling at your normal movement speed.
Languages.  You can speak, read, and write Common and Amazonian.

Amazons and gargareans share a common language, named for the most commonly known of the races/tribes.
